Accessibility

CânSing is striving to comply with all of the Priority 1 and 2 accessibility checkpoints across its web presence, as established in the World Wide Web Consortium's [W3C] web accessibility initiative [WAI]. The WAI promotes a high degree of usability and accessibility for people with disabilities. The W3C promotes good practice amongst the web community via initiatives like WAI [http://www.w3.org/WAI/] Web Contact Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.

The website is designed with the following accessibility guidelines in mind:

  • Pages are designed so that they can be viewed at a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.
  • Page structure is conveyed using header elements.
  • The use of stylesheets and relative font sizes on all text with the exception of graphical text.
  • Text can be increased or decreased in size by using the "view" option in your browser.
  • Images that convey important information have alternative text. Where an image is used for a decorative purpose the alternative text will be left blank.
  • No information is exclusively conveyed using colour.
